General Musicianship Curriculum (Green Period)

This period aims to promote an understanding of music among beginners. Besides developing studentsˇ¦ interest, knowledge and playing techniques in their early age, the course put strong emphasis on developing studentsˇ¦ music potential. Students completing this course are expected to acquire proper playing techniques and good sight reading skills. This further enhances studentsˇ¦ ability to explore new pieces by themselves.

- Introduction to basic techniques
- bringing in co-ordination, articulations and controls on even playing
- mastering good independent finger control
- acquiring good sight-reading skills

* Optional examinations of ABRSM Exam Grade 1-4 or Rock School (UK) Grade 1-4 can be taken.

Practical Musicianship Curriculum (Blue Period)

This period provides students with advanced piano instructions. Good level of accuracy, clear contrasts and sensitivity to musical details will be studied. Students completing this course are expected to get acquainted with a sense of character of the performing piece and are able to perform by memory.

- refining skills and continue to develop more technical experience
- mastering the quality of touch, variety and gradation of tone will be emphasized
- introducing the discretion use of the pedals
- experiencing different repertoire genres: classical music to standard popular tunes including pop and jazz

* Optional examinations of ABRSM Exam Grade 5-6 or Rock School (UK) Grade 5-6 can be taken.

Advanced Musicianship Diploma Curriculum (Pink Period)

Students completed this course are expected to have confident performance, excellent tonal and technical assurance techniques when playing piano. This course put special emphasis on developing studentsˇ¦ ability on developing quality of tone, interpretation and performance skills. In addition, ensemble class provides students with a better understanding of balance, rhythmic and technical security with other performers.
