Musicianship Curriculum (Green Period) |

| This
period put a strong emphasis on the foundations
needed to become a professional guitarist.
It is a comprehensive curriculum covering
both acoustic and electric guitars. Both
theoretical and practical aspects of performance
will be covered. Students completing this
period will be able to accompany classical
or pop tunes by reading standard scores,
as well as TAB, scores specifically for
guitarists. At the same time, students should
be able to accompany themselves, like many
singer-songwriters do.
- -introducing basic chord form, open major/minor,
dominant 7th chords, barre chord, power
chord
- -basic fingering techniques: scales, power
chord rhythm, chord strumming, triplet rhythm,
arpeggio pattern.
- Learn basic electric guitar techniques:
bending, hammering, pulling, slide, vibrato,
etc
- develop hands co-ordination
- Learn different guitar effects, usage
and tuning
- elementary classical guitar training
* Optional examinations
of Rock School Grade 1-4 or ABRSM Grade
1-4 can be taken.

| Practical
Musicianship Curriculum (Blue Period) |

| Begin
the lead guitarist of a band is the goal of
most guitar players. This period introduce
the concept of ensemble playing and the skills
required for doing so. Upon completion of
this period, students would be able to jam
with other guitarists/musicians. And will
have the opportunity to perform in a band.
Instructors will share their experiences
and techniques on playing different genres
of music, such as rock, pop and canto-pop
etc.
- Refining various playing styles, for example:
Rock, Pop, Blues, Funk, R&B etc.
- Chord forms (e.g. Major 7th ,minor 7th,
6 ,9, suspension etc.) and their usage
- training and theory on: improvisation
(solo), picking techniques, chord inversions
* Optional examinations
of Rock School Grade 5-6 or ABRSM Grade
5-6 can be taken.

| Advanced
Musicianship Diploma Curriculum (Pink Period) |
 |
This
course introduces students to analyzing the
arrangement of a guitar¡Voriented song. Improvisation
and soloing skills will be covered in a more
intensive approach.
- improvisation/solo¡¦s techniques and theory:
usage of modes, melodic minor, arpeggios,
speed picking training, left/right-hand synchronization,
melodic sequences, sweeping picking etc.
- Mastering the location of chord tones for
all positions.
- learning more complex chord (chord System)
forms such as: diminish, augmented, alter
chords
- Learn to perform pieces with creativity,
e.g., elaboration on solo and rhythm parts.
Accumulates live performance experience.
- ear-training: analyze guitar solos in different
styles of music
- provide jamming session with other students
and/or instructors
- arrangement technique through analyzing
different music styles
- Recording sessions for making student¡¦s
own demo.
