General Musicianship Curriculum (Green Period)
This course explores the role of bass guitar in performance. In what ways can bass guitar be emphasized as a solo instrument? How are emotions expressed through it? How is bass guitar being characterized in this technologically advanced society? This course is therefore designed to let students understand the importance of bass guitar in music. Through reading standard scores, students will acquire the skills to accompany pop tunes.


- understanding basic techniques of bass guitar
- understanding the role of the bass guitar in a band setting
- acquiring basic knowledge of band jamming
- applying practical bass guitar methods on songs


* Optional examinations of Rock School Grade 1-4 or ABRSM Grade 1-4 can be taken.

Practical Musicianship Curriculum (Blue Period)

This course is an introduction to the main elements of music- melody, rhythm, styles, texture, timbre and articulation. Students completing this course are expected to have widened their musical knowledge sense. The ultimate aim of this course is to develop studentsˇ¦ own performing style.

- accessing a drum machine to form a solid rhythm section
- developing a good sense of groove.
- introducing to different techniques like slapping, fingering, picking, hammering
- experiencing different genres of repertoires such as pop, rock, funk, jazz and blues


* Optional examinations of Rock School Grade 5-6 or ABRSM Grade 5-6 can be taken.

Advanced Musicianship Diploma Curriculum (Pink Period)
This course focuses on performance. It is designed for students who are interested in becoming a genuine bass guitarist. Students will participate in regular band practices throughout semesters. Besides musical skills, this course also emphasize on teamwork, discipline and creativity.

- Bass playing techniques in live performances
- acquiring professional playing skills through reading live concert scores.
- Solo and improvisation techniques
- participating in regular band practice
- Acquire technical knowledge and attitude to become a professional bass guitarist
