Application

Application forms can be:

- Downloaded from the school website www.baronschoolofmusic.com or
- Collected at Baron School of Music

Upon completion of the application forms, please submit the form to 1/F, 33 Garden Road, St. John’s Building, Central, Hong Kong.

When submitting application(s) to the school, please check that the following items are included:

1. A completed application form(s), with a recent photo of the applicant taken within the last 12 months
2. Applicants under the age of 18 must be signed by the parent/guardian
3. Should applicants has any original composition, he/she can submit their work(s) along with the application form

Audition

Whole audition include 3 parts:

1. Applicants for Voice or any other instrumental majors must prepare 2 contrasting pieces of music (genres, ambience, or tempo). Playing skills and potentials of the applicant would be evaluated at the audition.
2. Applicants will be tested on general music knowledge.
3. Individual interview session.

Should applicants have no prior music training, special arrangement will be made: performance section and music theory written test would be exempted. Replaced by an interview session and a simple written test on general music knowledge. Musical knowledge of the applicants is not of ample importance. Basic pitch accuracy and musical sense of the applicant are of higher priority.

Important notice:

• Except piano major’s applicants, applicants should provide their own instruments for the audition.
• Applicants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by parent/guardian to the audition.
• Should applicants, for any reason, not able to adhere to the scheduled audition time, they should notify the school as soon as possible. So that alternative arrangement could be made.
• Should applicants failed to notify the school about their absences, applicants will need to submit a new application again.
• When Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is being hoisted, or the Rainstorm Black/Red Warning is in force, auditions will be suspended automatically. Applicants will be notified at a later date for reschedule arrangement.
• Baron School of Music reserves the right to final decisions on any issues subject to change.
• Without permission of the school, audio/video recording and photo taking is prohibited on the premises.
• All accepted applicants would be notified within 10 days after the audition by phone.
• Accepted applicants who had completed all registration procedures must punctually attend all individual and/group classes scheduled by the school. Frequently absence from any of the mentioned classes may result in dismissal from Baron School of Music.
• No refunds of any tuition fees would be made, should students withdraw from the course at anytime.
